January Admissions Info Session: Understanding Gifted Education

For families considering Tradewinds School, we are hosting an admissions info session on Tuesday, January 21, 2026. Head of School Carl Sabatino and co-founder Andy Szybalski will lead a conversation about what gifted education actually looks like and what kind of education honors it.
Event Details
Tuesday, January 21, 2026 | 5:30–7:00 PM
Treehouse Coworking | 4819 Kilauea Avenue #7, Honolulu
Doors open at 5:15 PM. Free parking available.
What We Will Discuss
We will explore the difference between 'schoolhouse gifted' and gifted, what a specialized gifted program offers that acceleration and enrichment miss, and whether Tradewinds might be the right fit for different families. This is not a sales pitch—it is a conversation for families trying to figure out what their child actually needs.
Activities for Children
Families are encouraged to bring their children. Wrenn Okada, ʻIolani's Lower School Robotics Coordinator, will lead the keiki through a Lego STEM project while parents attend the presentation. Light refreshments will follow.
