Help Us Shape the Future of Gifted Education in Oahu

A quick update: we launched the Tradewinds website less than a week ago, and over 50 families have already signed up. Heidi and I are honestly thrilled to see this level of interest—it confirms what we suspected: there's a real need for gifted education here in Hawai'i.
I've been hearing from many of you about your journeys. Some are born and raised on Oahu and have found that even the best local schools struggle to keep up with their kids’ pace and curiosity. Others are recent transplants looking for the kind of gifted education they knew on the mainland—experiential learning, a cohort of like-minded peers, room to go deep into what fascinates them.
If you haven't shared your story yet, I'd love to hear it. What's your family looking for in a school? Just reply to this email—it helps us understand what we're building and for whom.
Here's where I could use your help: Over the coming weeks, I'll be speaking with educators in Oahu and beyond who have experience in gifted education. Before I do, I want to make sure I'm asking the right questions.
What do you want to know from the experts? And what would your ideal gifted school do for your child?
Your answers will directly shape these conversations and help us build something that actually serves this community.
Thanks for being part of this from the start.
P.S. We just launched a Tradewinds School page on Facebook, feel free to follow us there—it helps us with the Facebook algorithm so we can reach more families.
