Tradewinds ✕ Cresconova: Codes & Ciphers Online Class for Gifted Students Grade 2–4

I'm excited to share something we've been working on: a partnership with Cresconova Academy to bring their exceptional Codes & Ciphers class to Hawaii families—scheduled for Hawaii-friendly hours.

What: Codes & Ciphers for gifted students grades 2–4
When: Thursdays, 4:30-5:20 pm HST (starting October 30)
Where: Online via Cresconova
Cost: $300 for six sessions (Oct 30, Nov 6, Nov 20, Dec 4, Dec 11, Dec 18)

This isn't your typical enrichment class. Students will explore how Julius Caesar sent secret messages using the Caesar Shift cipher, learn how the ancient Greeks used the scytale to encrypt messages during wartime, and try their hand at both creating and cracking codes that have been used throughout history. It's hands-on cryptology that requires strategic thinking, creativity, and precision—exactly the kind of deep, intellectually engaging work gifted kids crave.

Your teacher: Katie Kelly, who spent 7 years at Nueva School in California and holds a Master's in Elementary Education with Certification in Gifted Education. She's currently the Director of Learning at Cresconova and understands what gifted learners need. While Tradewinds School prepares to open its doors in fall 2026, we wanted to start serving Oahu's gifted community now. This partnership with Cresconova is the first of what we hope will be many opportunities to connect gifted kids here in Hawaii with exceptional learning experiences. Space is extremely limited. We're offering this email list the first opportunity to register before opening it up more broadly—so if this sounds like a fit for your child, don't wait.
